Kubernetes Overview
Purpose: Container estate inventory and cost. Cluster, namespace, node, pod, and container counts with resource totals, container-level cost, and budgeting. It extends the same hybrid cost model used elsewhere in the platform down to the container layer.
Before you start: collection is required
Kubernetes reporting depends on a container platform collector being configured. Where none is, every screen in this section renders its controls and column headers with no rows and no plotted data. That is an empty state rather than a fault, and it is the most common reason these screens appear blank.
If you expect clusters here and see none, check the collection device configuration before investigating anything on these pages.

Why container cost belongs here
Containers are the hardest layer to attribute cost to, because they share nodes, nodes share clusters, and clusters may run on owned hardware, cloud, or both. A container-level cost figure therefore depends on knowing what the underlying compute costs, which is the problem the rest of the platform already solves.
That is the connection worth understanding: Kubernetes cost here inherits the same cost basis as the virtual and cloud estates, so a container running on owned hardware and one running in cloud are costed on a consistent footing rather than in separate tools.
