# Delta Report

> Exactly what changed, in capacity and performance, between any two dates, down to the day.

Delta Report quantifies change. Pick a resource type, pick a start and end date, and the report shows how much used storage and IO workload grew or shrank for every device group in that window. Where Trends shows the shape of change, Delta shows the amount.

## What this screen shows

| Control | Choices |
| --- | --- |
| Group type | How results are grouped, such as device type or data center |
| Unit type | `Devices`, `Volumes`, or `Pools` |
| Increment | Reporting granularity, down to one day |
| Start / End | Any two dates |

The chart pairs storage growth against IO growth for each group, and the totals at the top summarize the whole window. Negative bars are real: capacity that shrank, workload that moved away.

## When to use it

- **The weekly review.** How did the environment change week over week, and does the change match what was planned?
- **Date-anchored executive questions.** Growth since the start of a fiscal period, or since a specific project began, because the date range is arbitrary. Answering that question live, in the meeting, beats a follow-up email every time.
