# Cloud Overview **Purpose:** Cloud spend, growth, and forecasting for the subscriptions and resource groups Visual One collects. Ten reports covering what cloud costs now, what it will cost, what it should cost, and what needs attention. The section is deliberately built to sit alongside the on-prem estate rather than separately from it. ## Where Cloud fits Cloud is one context in the main navigation, next to Storage, Virtual, Backup, Databases, Switches, and Kubernetes. Cloud cost also appears throughout [FinOps](https://visualoneintelligence.com/docs/finops-overview/), where it is normalized against on-prem cost in a single model. The distinction is scope: FinOps answers cross-estate cost questions, and this section answers cloud-native ones about subscriptions, resource groups, and regions. The reports are shaped around the Azure object model: **subscription**, then **resource group**, then **resource**, with geography and service type as cross-cutting dimensions. ## The reports in this section | Report | What it answers | | --- | --- | | [Cloud Summary](https://visualoneintelligence.com/docs/cloud-summary/) | What are we spending, what will we spend, and which resources cost the most | | [Cloud All Units](https://visualoneintelligence.com/docs/cloud-all-units/) | The subscription and resource inventory, with spending limits and month-to-date cost | | [Enterprise Cloud Budget Trend](https://visualoneintelligence.com/docs/cloud-budget-trend/) | Are we tracking against the budget we set | | [Cloud Growth Overview](https://visualoneintelligence.com/docs/cloud-growth-overview/) | Which subscriptions and resources are growing, and how fast | | [Disk Used Trend](https://visualoneintelligence.com/docs/cloud-disk-used-trend/) | How cloud storage consumption is moving across platforms | | [Cloud Resource Group Forecast](https://visualoneintelligence.com/docs/cloud-resource-group-forecast/) | Where one resource group's cost, capacity, and performance are heading | | [Cloud Resource Group Modeling](https://visualoneintelligence.com/docs/cloud-resource-group-modeling/) | What a proposed workload would cost in cloud, and what it would cost on-prem | | [Cloud Health Alerts](https://visualoneintelligence.com/docs/cloud-health-alerts/) | What the cloud platform is flagging, with acknowledgment and escalation | | [Cloud Cost Report](https://visualoneintelligence.com/docs/cloud-cost-report/) | What cloud costs per VM, per CPU, per GiB of memory, and per TiB of storage | | [Storage by Device Type](https://visualoneintelligence.com/docs/cloud-storage-by-device-type/) | How cloud storage consumption splits by platform | ## Patterns that repeat across the section - **Granularity selectors.** Several reports carry a `$ Granularity` dropdown, commonly set to `Month (MTD)`, that rebases every figure on the page. Check it before quoting a number. - **The same chart furniture everywhere.** Zoom presets of `1m`, `3m`, `6m`, `YTD`, `1y`, and `All`, explicit start and end date pickers, a save control, a range brush beneath the plot, an export menu, and a per-panel email action. - **Forecast alongside actual.** Forecast figures sit next to actuals rather than replacing them, and are labelled as forecasts. Say which one you are quoting. - **Editable budgets.** Budget fields on the trend and modeling screens are inputs, not read-only figures, with their own save controls. ## Common actions A monthly pass runs Summary for the headline position, Budget Trend for variance, Growth Overview to find what is moving, Cost Report for the unit rates that make cloud comparable to on-prem, and Health Alerts to clear the queue. Resource Group Forecast and Modeling are for specific decisions rather than routine review. ## Tips > Cloud figures depend entirely on collector coverage. A subscription that is not collected contributes nothing and produces no warning, so reconcile the subscription count in Cloud All Units against your actual tenant before treating any total as complete. --- Source: https://visualoneintelligence.com/docs/cloud-overview/
